Melisa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal State San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. She has furthered her studies in human behavior by obtaining an NLP Certification (Neurolinguistic Programming) and is currently working toward her PHR Certification (Professional in Human Resources).
Melisa consulted in the Employee Relations space for 5 years at several Fortune 500 companies including Roche, Abbott, and GE. In that time, she planned and executed several leadership retreats, company picnics, and all-hands meetings plus led hundreds of new hire orientations & workplace trainings. She was also heavily involved in multiple spikes in hiring and firing- onboarding over 400 new hires for an online retail fulfillment center’s holiday season and offboarding hundreds of biotech manufacturing workers during a reduction in force.
She has spent the last 2 years consulting for small businesses, evolving their organizational procedures. She is a master of productivity, time management, and process improvement. She has a knack for digging deep with leadership teams to find their zone of genius, hone in on their mission & vision, set goals strategically, and discover uniquely differentiating needle movers to increase profitability. As a business owner herself, Melisa understands the brain of a Founder and can speak directly to their pain points.
Her education combined with her experience make her a key resource in analyzing data & identifying company issues to be able to transform the processes that create productive profits.
When she’s not in the office, Melisa loves lifting heavy things in CrossFit & consuming business podcasts daily. She is passionate about building community and holds monthly educational workshops for entrepreneurs. She also enjoys speaking on stage at small business conferences throughout the year.
