Speaker Profile: Melisa Celikel

How did you know you wanted to be a speaker?

 

I’ve always loved being on stage, from ballet and tap dance shows as a 3 year old, to piano recitals as a 7 year old, to choir performances at Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and Padres stadium as a teenager- I’ve always wanted to be on stage! My words are my “instrument” at this point in my life- I love empowering, motivating, and inspiring others in my keynote speeches and live workshops. I worked in Human Resources as an Organizational Development Consultant for Fortune 500 companies for 4 years, before starting my own company. In that time, I led hundreds of new hire orientations and several leadership retreats which required me to speak in front of rooms full of C-level executives and Directors. Once I had that microphone in my hand, I knew I had found my gift!

 

How did your speaking journey start?

 

After leaving the corporate rat race, I launched my own company geared toward streamlining processes and creating strategic systems for small business owners. I found that my best clients came from in-person relationship building, mostly at local networking events. I needed a new sales funnel so I started my own local meetup group which hosted small business owners in a workshop-style setting. In 2019 I held 8 events with over 400 attendees. I’ve always loved the quote, “Necessity is the mother of invention!” I built myself a stage and people showed up in droves. 

 

What kind of impact do you want to make in the world through speaking?

 

I’m a game changer and a needle mover. I’ve been referred to as the “Energizer Bunny” by some and the “Tasmanian Devil” by others. I’m a high-energy powerhouse speaker that seeks to energize and motivate my audiences. With each interaction, my aim is to leave attendees feeling like they’re ready to take action, get results, and find more success in life & business. 

 

Who is your ideal audience?

 

I’ve spoken at corporate events, leadership retreats, executive strategy planning sessions, women’s groups, universities, entrepreneur incubators, and small business conferences.  More to come!

 

Whose lives are you looking to impact through speaking?

 

Although I no longer hold my own meetup events and workshops, small business owners and entrepreneurs still hold a special place in my heart. My expert topics are  productivity, time management, minimalism, prioritization, goal setting, and organization- areas where all creative entrepreneurs can definitely improve! I also hold leadership development trainings for executive & corporate teams throughout San Diego with topics including Accountability, Time Management, Communication, Teambuilding, and Conflict Resolution.

After college, she spent several years consulting for Fortune 500 companies including Roche, Abbott, and General Electric. She started Let's Get You Organized in 2018, working with small businesses by evolving organizational procedures. She is a master of productivity, time management, and process improvement. She has a knack for digging deep with leadership teams to find their zone of genius, hone in on their mission & vision, set goals strategically, and discover uniquely differentiating needle movers to increase profitability.
